After giving it a dry run, Amazon has officially announced its AmazonLocal service, which offers Groupon-like deals straight from the Special Offers Kindle. Current Kindle owners need not fret because a new software update will go live in a few weeks. AmazonLocal is the product of Amazon's partnership with LivingSocial, a special deals company that currently offers discounts on restaurant dine-ins, massages, yoga sessions, and other services in 15 states.
