New Hangouts v2 will support SMS and MMS, but Google Voice integration will take some time

Many suspected that once the all new Hangouts v2 began rolling out on Google Play (arriving first on the Nexus 5), it would bring not only the SMS integration we've all been requesting, but integrated Google Voice SMS and calling too. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like Google Voice anything on Hangouts wont be happening anytime soon. According to Googler Nikhyl Singhal, Google has run into some snags with getting Google Voice integrated into Hangouts.

Nexus 5 coming to Sprint, says @evleaks

Twitter account @evleaks has leaked yet another shot of the Nexus 5. This time, it's a side angle shot of the device that gives us a look at a perspective we don't often see. What's more interesting about this leak, though, is that the device is apparently said to be coming to Sprint. It's not the most shocking development in the world, as the Now Network hasn't been opposed to carrying a couple of Nexus devices in the past.
Last year was the first time they didn't have a Nexus phone since the Nexus One launched, though we're not sure how much of that has to do with Google's distaste with CDMA after the Verizon / Galaxy Nexus debacle.

Samsung Galaxy Round hands-on

Samsung Galaxy Round hands-on

While the left-to-right curviness seems subtle in the photos, it was made more apparent when we started scrolling content sideways on that vibrant 5.7-inch, 1080p AMOLED panel. The outer curve made it instantly pleasing while holding the phone with a single hand, and the concave nature of the screen made it just a tad easier for our thumb to reach the other side. On a similar note, this Android 4.3 device felt expectedly nice in our trouser pocket. We only found one application that takes advantage of the Galaxy Round's unique shape, which is the "Roll Effect" notification display.

By examining over 40 million unique iPhones through its analytics software, Localytics today published a new report which reveals that the “unapologetically plastic” iPhone 5c actually has the highest adoption rate in the U.S. Prior to its announcement, it was consistently rumored that the iPhone 5c would see greater adoption in markets like China and India, as it was expected to be sold for under $300 off contract. That didn't happen though, and there's no data to support that the iPhone 5c has taken the Chinese market by storm, but it does appear to be doing relatively well on home turf.

Hacker collective Anonymous has made quite a name for itself. Yes, the group that threatened to wipe the U.S. “off the cybermap,” the very same group that hacked North Korea's Flickr and Twitter account as part of “Operation Free Korea.” That hacker collective Anonymous. According to The Toronto Sun, a 12 year old boy in Montreal has pleaded guilty to three counts of hacking in a Canadian court. During the 2012 Quebec student protests, he helped the Anonymous group in DDOS attacks. Samsung posts record profits in its latest earnings report

Samsung posts record profits in its latest earnings report

Samsung released its Q3 2013 earnings report. As expected, the Korean giant posted record-shattering profits which slightly exceeded the guidance from earlier this month. Samsung posted consolidated operating profit of 10.16 trillion won (approximately $9.56 billion) from a 59.08 trillion won (roughly $55.59 billion) of revenue. SamsungÂ's profits came in 7% higher than the previous quarter and an impressive 26% more than the same period last year.

Unsurprisingly, the mobile division chipped in significantly to the profits. Its growth was driven by increased sales of mass-market, lower-cost models.

BlackBerry Z30 To Arrive On Verizon 31st October

Back in September after months of being rumored and having its photos leaked, the BlackBerry Z30 was finally launched. There was no mention as to which carrier the handset will be making its way to in the states, although a leaked image did suggest that Verizon, at the very least, would be offering it. Well it turns out that is very true and not only will Verizon carry the device, it looks like they will be getting an exclusive on the handset, meaning that other carriers in the US will not be selling the BlackBerry Z30, at least not anytime in the immediate future.

When Themer debuted a few weeks ago, everyone in the Android community was up in a tizzy and with good reason — it's one of the quickest and easiest ways to give your boring Android homescreen a complete overhaul. There was only one problem. Themer was only available by invite, and many Android users were left waiting in a long line to get a crack at it. Today, Themer has finally gone open beta. What that means is if you hop on over to Themerapp.com and enter in your email address, you'll immediately be presented with an invite code to plug into the app. Easy peasy.
