Mercedes-Benz upgraded its SLS flagship Coupe and Roadster for the 2013 model year, and the changes are marked with them new "GT" nomenclature. Both SLS models arrive with a retuned naturally aspired 6.2-liter V8 delivering 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque (the horses are up from 563, but the torque remains the same) mated to a revised seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox. Rounding out the mechanical upgrades is a redeveloped AMG two-mode adaptive suspension.

Alfa Romeo 4C spied in the sun

It's been almost two years since we first saw the 2011 Alfa Romeo 4C Concept, but the sporty coupe looks like it's getting its final touches before going on sale – including in the US – at some point this year. Judging by these spy shots, the production 2014 4C will retain many of the concept's styling cues, although we can also spot a few changes. While the prototype seen here is still wearing heavy camouflage at the front and rear, we do see that the sides of the 4C have received some significant changes.

Tesla Model S sets quarter-mile record for quickest production EV (video)

It looks as if the Tesla Model S has a new feather to stick in its cap. DragTimes.com took the five-door down to Palm Beach International Raceway for a few sprints down the quarter mile, and the EV managed to run a best time of 12.371 seconds at 110.84 miles per hour with a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds. Those numbers were good enough for the Model S to take the crown as the world's quickest production EV according to the National Electric Drag Racing Association.

Toyota reclaims global sales crown, GM and VW not far behind

TheDetroitBureau.com reports Toyota has retaken the global sales crown. The Japanese automaker turned out 9.75 million vehicles last year, putting it just ahead of General Motors, with 9.29 million vehicles. Volkswagen, meanwhile, filled out the podium by building 9.1 million units in 2012. Still, Toyota numbers fell just above projections the automaker made earlier in the year, due largely to a fierce territorial dispute between Japan and China that has seen mainland buyers shun Japanese goods. But the news marks a substantial comeback for Toyota.

Vine App Struggles with Porn Problem

Vine, Twitter's new video sharing app, has another problem at hand: a very NSFW problem. The New York Times columnist Nick Bilton reported through Twitter that Vine users can find nudity of various degrees and sex acts recorded directly from laptop screens just by searching for tags such as “#porn” and similar not-for-children hashtags. Users can flag inappropriate content directly from the mobile app. If there are enough people flagging the video clips, the app adds a roadblock warning users of a NSFW clip ahead.

2014 Subaru Forester priced from $21,995*

Subaru has officially announced that its all-new 2014 Forester will carry a base MSRP of $21,995 when it hits dealerships early this year, (*not including $895 in destination fees).
