Motorola Mobility's employees in China protest against layoffs

About 200 of Motorola Mobility's employees gathered in front of the company's Chinese headquarters in Beijing on Friday morning, and protested against the layoffs that Google has set in motion last week. After finally being able to close the deal through which it acquired Motorola Mobility, Google has presented a plan that will see 20% of that company's workforce laid off in the near future. This move will help focus Motorola on fewer, higher-quality mobile devices each year, according to the Mountain View giant.
