Volkswagen pretends its Chinese hover car is real
Last year, Volkswagen China began its People's Car Project, which gathered crowdsourced concepts for future VWs. Among the three concepts chosen from the submissions – the Music Car, a Beetle wrapped in LEDs that change colors to match the driver's choice of music; the Smart Key that can track the status of your car; and a a zero-emissions, two-seat Hover Car – it was the latter that earned a four-minute video showcasing its imagined technology. The video posted above is the same one that was released three months ago, but it's now been subtitled so that we can actually follow what's happening.

Next-gen 2014 Toyota Corolla caught testing in U.S.
Given the level of competition in the compact segment, these recent spy photos show that Toyota is getting serious with its next-generation Corolla. As the second-best-selling nameplate in the world, the last few Toyota Corolla redesigns have been rather minor, but based on these pictures, the new car will get much more competitive styling. The boxy lines of the current Corolla seem to be replaced with a sportier look that includes a sloped hood and a shorter decklid borrowing design cues from new cars like the 2013 Toyota Avalon and 2012 Toyota Camry.

Opel cutting work hours in two plants to avoid layoffs
Trying to make the best of a nasty situation for everyone involved, Opel has reportedly worked out an agreement with its Works Council and the IG Metall union to reduce working hours at two of its plants. From the end of September until the end of the year, there will be 20 days of short shifts and short working days for two Opel facilities: the Rüsselsheim factory that builds the Insignia and Astra and the Kaiserslautern component plant. About half of the 13,800 Rüsselsheim employees will be affected, including everyone but engineers, along with all 2,500 workers at Kaiserslautern.

HTC Proto is a Desire V with a dual-core CPU. Images leaked
The HTC Proto is coming soon. That's probably a codename, so it will end up being sold as something else. Not as the Desire V, though. That particular device has already been announced by HTC for Europe, and it looks exactly like the Proto.
Hence, the Proto is probably just a tweaked Desire V, losing the dual-SIM functionality, but gaining a dual-core processor (the V has a single-core unit). Other than that, these two phones seem to be identical, at least if we judge based on the few leaked specs we have for the Proto so far: 5 MP camera, and a 4-inch 480×800 touchscreen.

For the former, President of Corporate Services Volker Batels claims it's treated as securely as one would with cash money, in the sense that it has many visible and invisible features.

Samsung pushes first Tizen device to 2013, forgets Bada ever existed
Remember Bada. Samsung's ‘entry-level' smartphone OS that until recently had bigger market share than Windows Phone. Well, Samsung certainly doesn't seem to remember it that well. The latest Bada phones to be announced were the Wave 3, Wave M, and Wave Y. And that was almost one year ago, during IFA 2011 in Berlin. Since then, Samsung's stayed mum on the Bada front.
If you're wondering why, it's because Bada is dead. We told you so back in May, so don't act all surprised and such.

In between, that there's been speculation on the other side, with reports that Volvo is looking for a partner on a small car.

It is an easy number to calculate, just take 163 (number of games in a season + 1) subtract wins by the leader, and losses by the second-place time, and you have it. But that involves looking up the records, and doing math.
