If you happen to own an electric car and live in Portland, you would be pleased to know that a block-long stretch of a downtown Portland street is now known as “Electric Avenue.” The reason behind that. This street will feature a grand total of seven electric charging stations from half a dozen different manufacturers, where they will be installed at Portland State University in conjunction with a two-year study. This study will involve just which chargers will receive the most use, the demographic who plugs in, and the behavior of drivers who wait while their cars are getting the daily dose of juice.
