Report: Moto X could sell for a Nexus-like $300

The Moto X unveiling event is less than a day away and to say I'm hyped would be an understatement. With just about every hardware detail having already been leaked, there's very little we don't already know about the X. We've seen press images of the front and back of the device, so design and aesthetics are out of the bag (Motorola hasn't exactly been secretive about this).

Griswold Family travels to Disney in the Family Truckster, for real

Is there anyone among us who didn't laugh uncontrollably at the Family Truckster that transported Clark, Ellen, Rusty and Audrey (along with a few other, less fortunate souls...) to Wally World in National Lampoon's Vacation. We thought not. Such a classic piece of Hollywood automobilia deserves such recognition, we think, and we're happy to report that one real-life Griswold Family has replicated the movie's fateful trip the best way it can: with a Wagon Queen Family Truckster of their very own.

Apple is currently testing an iPad Mini 2 sans Retina Display

Apple is currently testing an iPad Mini 2 sans Retina Display

Apple is already testing a few iPad Mini 2 units, and unfortunately they don't have a Retina Display. This information has been revealed thanks to a developer that spotted references to new iPad Mini tablets in the iOS 7 software development kit (SDK). The good news though is that these new iPad Minis seem to sport the s5I8950x processor, which is the exact same A6 part currently used in the iPhone 5. This could mean that the next generation iPad Mini will come with much improved performance compared to its predecessor, but there's no mention of a high-resolution Retina Display for these models inside the aforementioned SDK.

AT&T Galaxy S3 Premium Suite Upgrade Released

The Android 4.1 update for AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 was released back in December. That update was different from Samsung's “premium suite” upgrade which brings a host of additional features such as multi-window. A little over two months ago the Verizon Galaxy S3 received its very own premium suite upgrade, AT&T was left out of the fray once again. Today is the big day though, the day when AT&T Galaxy S3 premium suite upgrade is rolled out to users all across the U.S.
The upgrade brings features such as multi-window, which lets users open two apps simultaneously in two different windows.

Zynga Sues Makers Of "Bang With Friends" App Over Alleged Trademark Infringement

Some of you guys might have heard of Zynga's "with friends" series of games, like Words With Friends being one of them. Some of you might have also heard of a parody type of app called Bang With Friends, which is essentially an app that allows people to hook up with each other for casual sex. Given that the names are somewhat similar, we're surprised it actually took Zynga this long to sue them, but it looks like they finally have.

Windows Phone users still do not have an official Instagram app. Major apps have committed themselves to the platform, such as Vine and Flipboard. There's no word as yet on when an official Instagram app for Windows Phone will be released. There are a host of third party apps out there that allow users to upload photos to Instagram through their WP devices. It appears that the service is blocking uploads from such apps, and even deleting photos that get posted within seconds of them going online.

WaterColorBot Expresses Itself Using Watercolor

Ah, we certainly have seen the fair progression of robot technology over the years, haven't we. In fact, it was just late yesterday evening when we talked about how the Veebot would come in handy in drawing blood from your with a far higher accuracy rate than that of a human should it make its way to hospitals eventually. Now here is a robot that dabbles more of the opposite of science, which is obviously the realm of art. Sylvia Todd, a 12-year-old who happens to have this particular passion for robots, has come up with a robot that she has named as the WaterColorBot.

AT&T HTC One mini press shot appears

HTC One mini has gone official nearly two weeks ago with 4.3x720p display, dual-core Snapdragon 400 chipset and 4MP UltraPixel camera. Its international rollout is scheduled to happen this September. So far there is no official information on the AT&T's availability, but we have already seen a few blurry leaks of One minis with AT&T logos. Today's pic though is a solid proof that the AT&T version of HTC One mini exists and will probably go official soon.

There is no differences design and specs-wise, save for the additional AT&T logo at the back. We guess AT&T announcement of the HTC One mini should be just around the corner.

Another budget iPhone photo leaks, this time with FCC labels

Another budget iPhone photo leaks, this time with FCC labels

So far weÂ've been pretty skeptical of the budget iPhone leaks as they bear a very strong resemblance to a certain China-built Android phone. This, however, could be the money shot - the plastic budget iPhone with FCC labels on the back. None of the other leaks weÂ've seen (and there have been plenty) had such labels. The labels could, of course, be faked quite easily (especially in a blurry shot like this). Still, weÂ're on the lookout for official FCC docs - a non-blurry shot with the FCC ID clearly visible would be a great start.

Anyway, the rumor mill also says that this budget iPhone will be unveiled on September 6.

One of the biggest gripes I have with Monopoly these days is that I don't want to spend half of my day to dedicate my life to a game where I make believe I am a business tycoon when the only reason why I end up winning is based on pure luck. At thirty-one years old, I'm sure children, teens and young adults have even less time to spend on Monopoly, which is why Hasbro has launched a new version of the game that is said to take a total of 30 minutes to complete, called Monopoly Empire.

Social games such as Farmville used to be pretty popular and some of them still are, but it looks like at least one publisher has decided to no longer pursue that avenue, at least for the time being. EA has confirmed that they will be shifting away from social and Facebook games, and apparently it seems that the recent round of staff cuts was due to that. According to EA's president, Frank Gibeau, EA will remain active on Facebook and continue to participate there, but for now their focus over the next couple of years will be on consoles and mobile.

Last week we reported that Blizzard had released a new Diablo 3 teaser trailer for the PS3 in which the teaser reminded us somewhat of Paranormal Activity. As we had mentioned last time, the trailer released then was the first in several trailers that Blizzard would be releasing, and now it looks like the developers are back with part 2. While the first trailer was reminiscent of Paranormal Activity and felt more like a parody, the second trailer is a bit scary, especially if you're not a fan of children monsters/ghost/demons.

The final, official look of Motorola's new X phone has been revealed by EVleaks, which posted press images of the handset - in both black and white. What's more, an image showing the profile of the Moto X has also appeared, allowing us to see that the device has curved (and quite nice) sides. Motorola has scheduled the Moto X announcement day for August 1, so there are still many questions remained unanswered 'till then.

Alfa Romeo dumping FWD Mito, Giulietta hatches in favor of RWD sedans

Alfa Romeo dumping FWD Mito, Giulietta hatches in favor of RWD sedans

Europeans should be dancing in their nearest piazza, as Alfa Romeo is ditching its front-drive MiTo and Giulietta to return to its rear-drive roots, according to a report from the UK's Car. The switch is expected to happen in 2015, and is meant to bring Alfa Romeo closer to Maserati. Car is claiming that a 3 Series-fighting Alfa will hit the streets first, followed by a larger model to contend with the 5 Series. After that, Alfa will field a pair of SUVs, its first models of that body style.

Toyota's $1.6B unintended acceleration settlement approved

Toyota's $1.6B unintended acceleration settlement approved

Toyota is now one step closer to putting its unintended acceleration woes behind it as it has received approval from the US District Court for the Central District of California to settle loss-of-value claims to vehicles associated with the 2009-2010 recalls. As we reported back in May, the Toyota settlement is worth $1.63 billion, which, according to Bloomberg, includes a payout of $757 million to affected owners, $227 million to attorneys and an additional $875 million for vehicle upgrades. (We did the math, too, and that totals $1.859 billion, but there is no justification for the discrepancy.

Motorola X press image and specifications leak

Motorola X press image and specifications leak

We are inching closer to the official launch of the Motorola X, slated to happen on August 1. Naturally, then, a few leaks are par for the course and we have not one but two today, in the form of a leaked press image as well as leaked specifications. The first one comes courtesy TheUnlockr and gives us a first proper look at the device. The X is a bit of a departure from Motorola's recent designs, wherein it adopts a lot more curvaceous and understated design instead of sharp lines and more radical materials such as Kevlar for the back.

Cryptex vaults to make gift-giving more fun - for you!

Cryptex vaults to make gift-giving more fun - for you!

Remember the cryptex from The Da Vinci Code book and movies – the small, but complicated vault that would destroy the contents unless opened with the proper code.  A company called 4Thought Products is offering two cryptex-like enclosures to make your friends work for their gifts.  The Vino Vault Wine Cryptex fits over a wine bottle and delays gratification until the recipient breaks the five-letter code that opens the lock.  The Puzzle Pod Cryptex holds money or a small gift inside a clear enclosure that's just out of reach until the five-letter code is entered.

Moto X Could Arrive On US Cellular 26th August

Moto X Could Arrive On US Cellular 26th August

We've heard that the Moto X will be available on all the major carriers, and with a reported marketing budget of $500 million, it is safe to say that Motorola and Google definitely want this device to work and make its way into as many hands as possible. The good news is that if for whatever reason you're not on a major carrier like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon, but you're with a smaller carrier like US Cellular, fret not because the phone will apparently be launched on US Cellular's network as well.

iOS 7's Activation Lock Feature To Be Put To The Test

iOS 7's Activation Lock Feature To Be Put To The Test

One of the new features of iOS 7 that Apple announced during WWDC 2013 was the Activation Lock feature. Basically this feature will lock a phone and will require the owner's Apple ID username and password in order to use the device, making it a slightly more secure tool compared to the regular key code. This was a move by Apple to up the level of security on their products, and at the same time attempt to deter thieves from stealing and selling iPhones in the black market.
