Georgia Tech Unveils Tongue Driven Wheelchair For The Disabled

There are those who face extreme disability to the point where they are only able to control their wheelchair by puffing into a straw, also known as sip-and-puff where the user will be able to move and stop their wheelchairs using their breath. However over at Georgia Tech, researchers have recently found a way which could be more efficient than using straws, and this is through the use of the person's tongue. The school has developed a wearable Tongue Drive System which will allow those who are paralyzed to control their wheelchair just from their tongue, which is reportedly faster compared to using straws.

It is safe to say that in the smartphone platform market at the moment, the main players are probably Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry. There are of course other platforms out there such as Sailfish OS, Tizen, and Firefox OS. HTC's done it again. Not resting on their laurels, it appears that HTC is once again going hard in the paint, updating their flagship smartphone — the HTC One — to the latest version of Android, leaving the other guys in the dust. Beginning today, those who purchased the HTC One Developer Edition or unlocked models can expect Android 4.4 KitKat to hit your devices in time for the holidays, complete with HTC Sense (yes, this is a good thing). It's pretty crazy when you think about it.

Android 4.3 update for S4 and S III gets to Europe

Some users are seeing their Samsung Galaxy S4 and S III receiving the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in Europe. The update was first rolled-out but was shortly found to be infested by a lot of bugs and was since pulled. Not after AT&T resumed seeding the fixed version of the update. And now the update has started making its way to other regions.

The update brings improvements to performance, the Galaxy S4 gets Galaxy Gear and Knox support along with Group Play 2.5 and more.

Users that have installed the buggy 4.3 update should shortly receive a small patch update through Samsung Kies.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for Verizon drops to $170

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launched on Verizon in the US early last month on $300 with contract. In the spirit of Black Friday, the price of the flagship phablet has dropped to $170 on the same deals. The $170 price comes from Amazon and doesnÂ't seem to be a part of the etailer's Black Friday promotions (meaning it should be available even after today). This price is for new Verizon accounts.

Upgraders will have to pay a bit more - $200. The Galaxy Note 3 is also available from Verizon's own site at that price.

For comparison, the Note 3 is $220 with a contract with Sprint for new accounts and $300 for upgrades.

Seattle Restaurant Ejects Patron For Wearing Google Glass

Google Glass is relatively new technology and has slowly started to make its way into the mainstream through early adoption by developers as part of Google's Explorer program. That being said society has yet to adjust itself to the notion that one day Glass could become as commonplace as smartphones or tablets, and lately it seems that one particular restaurant in Seattle, the Lost Lake Café & Lounge, decided to give a patron by the name of Nick Starr who wore Google Glass in the establishment, an ultimatum in which he could remove his Glass or leave the restaurant.
