Daihatsu explores the future of play with two Kopen concepts

Daihatsu explores the future of play with two Kopen concepts

Daihatsu came to this year's Tokyo Motor Show with a clear (and very Japanese) statement of purpose for its show cars: "PLAY Tomorrow. Exploring the further possibilities of mini vehicles." Based on what we've seen so far, the playful aspect of the concept cars on the Daihatsu show stand is front and center. Perhaps most playful of all are a pair of Kopen concepts that would seem to foreshadow an upcoming replacement for the Daihatsu Copen kei car. The Kopen is a very stylish looking little convertible, angular in a way that arguably makes its small form even cuter than before.

2015 Subaru WRX looks to set a new benchmark in LA

2015 Subaru WRX looks to set a new benchmark in LA

Subaru has just taken the wraps off of the new, 2015 WRX at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. The totally redesigned sedan - the five-door option won't be offered - is more powerful, more fuel efficient (with the right transmission), better looking and more intelligently designed than the car it's replacing. A new 2.0-liter, direct-injected, turbocharged flat-four sits thumping away under the hood, its top-mount intercooler getting force-fed air by a rather prominent hood scoop. Power output sits at 268 ponies and 258 pound-feet of torque, accessible between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm.

No, Samsung didn't "sell" 800,000 Galaxy Gears, they shipped that many to retailers

Yesterday, we reported on a story that suggested Samsung only sold about 50,000 Galaxy Gear units. It's quite the paltry number considering how big the Galaxy S and Note line-ups are. Samsung, who had been under fire from critics about what could be considered a flop, decided to fire back with word to Yonhap Korea that there are about 800,000 units that have been shipped. It's imperative to note that “shipped” doesn't necessarily indicate sell-through, meaning this number accounts for all the units that have been sent to all retailers.
