Peugeot is betting even more on black (and copper) with the Onyx three-wheeled scooter concept. A fanciful sibling to the Onxy hybrid supercar concept, the scooter looks as if it could have come straight from the Japanese anime, Akira. The Onyx scooter makes do with a bit less gumption than the 680-horsepower Onyx coupe.

Toyota reworks Verso for Paris

The seven-seat Toyota Verso mini-MPV was introduced at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, two years on its successor will be introduced in Paris in about a week. The mid-cycle changes include more than 300 new parts with threefold aims: bringing the exterior design in line with the just-refreshed Auris, upgrading the fit and finish and improving the driving dynamics. That means a redesigned nose with elements that emphasize the length and width of the car, like narrower headlights with daytime LEDs, tweaked taillamps above a rear bumper with an integrated diffuser, and in a reversal of trend, smaller door mirrors with integrated turn signals.

The MakerBot Replicator 2 puts mad scientist-level prototyping within reach

MakerBot's new 3D printer was revealed at a event in Brooklyn, NY today, and although the 3D printer isn't a household item yet, this iteration brings the concept closer to ubiquity. 3D printers lay down PLA plastic to form actual objects from computer files, and since they've become small enough to fit in most homes a surprisingly robust community has grown around sharing plans online.  These plans range from silly pieces that connect Lego and K'nex to useful replacement parts for electronics. With 3D printers, you can literally fabricate these things in your home.

While the latest software for OS X Lion isn't nearly as exciting as a couple of other updates that Apple released today, Lion users will find a few worthwhile improvements within the new OS X 10.7.5 update. Most importantly, the latest software introduces Gatekeeper, a security feature from Mountain Lion that makes it more difficult to inadvertently install malicious software. The update also brings improved WiFi reliability for the iMac (late 2009 and newer) and squashes a bug that'd caused Launchpad icons to become rearranged.

Shocker: Samsung is 'likely to add' the iPhone 5 to its Apple lawsuit

After emitting an appropriate number of yawns and groans, staff at the federal court in San Jose have accepted a document from Samsung's lawyers stating that the manufacturer "anticipates" adding the iPhone 5 to its list of ongoing patent grievances against Apple. Samsung did acknowledge that it needs to "analyze the device" before being certain of its devilry, but it also clearly remains undeterred by that separate billion dollar verdict in Apple's favor.
