The Lightning electric car from EnviroTech that you see here certainly looks very different from all those sleek looking, modern sports cars and exotics. No sir, this one looks as though it was hauled straight off from the middle of the previous century, back in the days when nuclear power was still in its infancy (and demonstrated on two locations in Japan), and vehicles did not need to resemble a space age product. Well, do not be fooled by looks, and as mom always said, never judge a book by its cover.

Google has been spending a lot of effort making awesome doodles recently, with its recent Les Paul Doodle coming to mind. Well it looks like the company has done it again, with today's Google Doodle for its Polish website. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of Stanislaw Lem's first book, the company has put up a Doodle in the form of an HTML5 game which lets users control a man with a striking resemblance to the man, who works together with some sort of fly like creature to collect parts to build a robot.

More than 50% of all smartphones will be NFC enabled in 2-3 years

. We've been hearing that smartphones will transform into mobile wallets “any year now” for at least the past five years. But with the introduction of the Google Nexus S, Google Wallet, the ISIS initiative, and a handful of smartphones with integrated NFC, it looks like the technology is finally poised to take off. According to Taiwanese phone makers, more than 50% of all smartphones will include NFC within the next 2-3 years.

Confirmed: Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Pushed Back To A December Release

We’ve pretty much suspected this for awhile now but Business Insider is the first to receive confirmation from Verizon that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus launch has indeed been “pushed back” to December. How can something be pushed back when a date was never given. Well… I guess, it can’t. Either way, that December 9th launch date is sounding more and more plausible. Seems Verizon has been putting this device through its paces with rigorous testing on their network and as long as this device is released before Christmas, I’d be happy.

Samsung pushes out fixed Galaxy Tab 10.1 udpate

Last week we reported about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 getting a botched update that disabled WiFi on many devices. Well now it looks like Samsung has fixed the issue because the company has started pushing out a new update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 today. The update will be rolling out over the air, so folks who didn't grab the previous update and still have working WiFi, updating shouldn't be an issue. But for those of you affected by last week's update and don't have working WiFi, the update should be available via Samsung Kies.

Microsoft's Metro-based Xbox 360 dashboard update to launch December 6th

. Microsoft is poised to deploy its latest Xbox 360 dashboard update on December 6th, The Verge reported recently. The update will give the dashboard an entire overhaul and will use Microsoft's Metro-based UI, currently found in Windows Phone and Windows 8. Reportedly, the software will also include new Kinect voice controls, the ability to save games using cloud-based storage and integrated Facebook sharing. The update may include live TV support as well, but that will largely depend on where you live, The Verge said.

Lenovo Also Bringing a 5 Inch Device

Following rumors that Lenovo would be bringing a 10.1 inch tablet under the LePad brand, it appears a 5 inch tablet is in the works. It, too, will be marketed under the LePad brand in China and the IdeaTab brand elsewhere. There was no word on whether or not this device would be a phone+tablet hybrid despite the speaker-looking thing up at the top near the front-facing camera. The device has microUSB and micro HDMI as well, but no other specs can be confirmed. We'd imagine a dual-core processor of some sort will sit inside but we can't say for sure.
