Pantech Jest 2 – new global phone for Verizon

Verizon Wireless has introduced a new feature phone: the Pantech Jest 2, which comes to replace the original Jest (currently out of stock on the carrier's website). The new Pantech Jest 2 doesn't look too different from the first model. Its biggest selling point is the support for quad-band GSM connectivity, which will allow users to “enjoy wireless voice and data service in more than 200 countries.”.

ZTE Skate and Libra now available in the UK

As expected, two of ZTE's three new own-brand Android-powered smartphones, the Skate and the Libra, are now available to purchase in the UK. This, of course, was clearly going to happen. We did see a delay or two before the phones went in stock at retailers, though nothing too big. After all, the devices are launched in the same month that they originally should have been, so that's good news.
At least two UK-based online phone retailers have the two ZTE models in stock right now. The cheapest option is The Smartphone Centre, which asks £214.95 for the ZTE Skate, and £159.95 for the Libra.

Windows Phone 7 Mango delivery begins today

Earlier we reported that the Windows Phone 7 Mango update for the Sprint HTC Arrive would be here - but it looks like the HTC device won't be the only phone to officially receive Mango today. According to the Windows Phone “Where's my phone update?” page, all carriers have started delivering the update. In the column for Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango), all the carriers have been labeled as “Delivering update” which means that everybody should be receiving the update notifications on their devices starting today. It's going to take awhile to completely roll out, so for some people the wait might be a few days or weeks.

Ford F-150 powertrains go head-to-head

In an effort to show off just how dominant its engines are in the 2011 F-150, Ford has put together a head-to-head comparison site showing how the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, 3.7-liter V6, 5.0-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 stack up against the competition. Start by selecting work or play, and then drag the slider to reflect how much you normally tow or haul. Surprisingly, you're in EcoBoost V6 territory all the way to 1,900 pounds of hauling and 6,000 pounds of towing. The 3.7-liter still pumps out an impressive 302 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, and coupled with a claimed 23 mpg highway, things are looking pretty good.
