Quirky helmet concept gives new meaning to headlight

Quirky helmet concept gives new meaning to headlight

As a general rule, it's usually never a good look to strap things to your noggin. That said, we're willing to let this particular Quirky-made concept slide for two reasons: it could very well save your motorcycle-loving life and it won't muck up your head gear. The in-development helmet light, which goes by the plain though apt Signal moniker, makes use of an elastic fiber-optic fabric known as Lumigram, thus avoiding the need for messy adhesives and, more importantly, keeping your biker fashion in check. So, how exactly does it help steer you out of harm's way.

Toyota says next Corolla to get even bigger transformation than Avalon

Toyota says next Corolla to get even bigger transformation than Avalon

One of America's blandest, yet best-selling cars will be less boring when its next generation arrives next year, Toyota officials promise. Bill Fay, general manager for Toyota and Scion brands in the U.S., tells Ward's Auto that the Corolla will undergo an even more dramatic makeover than the Toyota Avalon recently underwent, which shocked us with its much svelter appearance at the New York Auto Show in April. Fay declines to get specific, but the move away from a conservative blueprint would be a marked change for Toyota's segment stalwart.

US Cellular launches Motorola Electrify 2 today for $180, Defy XT on August 3rd

With the launch of the Atrix HD a couple weeks ago, Motorola's looking to continue building momentum by launching two new devices on US Cellular this week. First up is the Electrify 2, the obvious followup to the regional carrier's version of the Photon 4G. Available online beginning today and in stores tomorrow, the new Electrify will feature Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.3-inch ColorBoost panel, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Kevlar backing, an 8MP rear camera capable of taking 1080p video capture, decently thin profile (8.4mm) and a splash guard similar to what we saw on the Atrix HD and Droid RAZR.

Unfortunately if you were hoping for a release date today, you would still be out of luck as Take-Two Interactive announced during its Q1 FY13 earnings call that Rockstar was not prepared to announce a release date for the game just yet.

Twitter quietly adds clickable stock symbols

Twitter quietly adds clickable stock symbols

It might not pack the same thrill as the rumors of in-feed video, but Twitter has added clickable stock symbols on tweets. This now throws up search results for both the stock and the company, using a new ‘cash' tag, like $FB, to differentiate from typical links and tags. As noted by TNW, it's bad news for the founder of StockTwits, a service that offered similar functionality to gather tweet-based financial nuggets.
