Motorola XOOM 2 will be available at Carphone Warehouse for Christmas for 400 Euros

Motorola has been looking to expand its tablet portfolio with its latest Xoom products. It recently launched the Motorola XOOM Family Edition at Bestbuy for $379. Today, a leaked flyer revealed that the Motorola XOOM 2 tablet will be available at Carphone Warehouse for this holiday season for 400 euros or $545. Specs wise, the XOOM 2 features a 8.2-inch touchscreen, Android 3.2(Honeycomb), and WiFi tethering support. It is a little disappointing that this device won't ship with Android ICS, but it will likely get a quick update.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Will Bring Smoother UI Experience – GPU Accleration Turned On By Default

A couple of Android engineers, the Romain Guy and Chet Haase made an interesting post today on Android Developers. As if I needed another reason to drool over Android 4.0, turns out that for the first time ever — Ice Cream Sandwich will turn on hardware acceleration by default. This is the same hardware acceleration found in Android 3.2 for tablets but in that version, it required a developer had to enable GPU acceleration with a simple line of code. So, what does this mean for the regular ‘ol end-user like you and me? Well, this will translate into an all around smoother and faster UI.

Wahoo Fitness bringing $80 BlueHR heart-rate belt to iPhone 4S users

Remember that nondescript heart-rate monitoring belt we peeked back in June. Now you know the company that's tossing out purchase orders for 'em. Wahoo Fitness has just revealed that it'll soon be shipping its own branded version of the product - dubbed BlueHR - and at least for now, it'll work exclusively with the iPhone 4S. Why, you ask. The 4S just so happens to have Bluetooth 4.0, and this here belt happens to utilize that very protocol.

While we’ve long heard of one Motorola XOOM 2 heading out of Motorola’s factories sometime soon, it’s been somewhat of a mystery. It still is. But according to an image received by Engadget, some parts of the globe should start seeing its release sometime before Christmas. A leaked Carphone Warehouse dates it within that window and even provides a preliminary price to drool at €400 ($545) in Ireland.

AT&T LTE-Enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Appears at the FCC

Just as was the case with the original, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 seems to be doing good things on carriers as AT&T wants to get in on the fun of carrying one. An LTE equipped version of the tablet for Ma Bell has been spotted at the FCC. Alongside compatible radios for their network, their 4G LTE logo on the back of the device is more than enough of a giveaway for us. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a very slim Android tablet that foregoes many desirable ports for its good looks. Still, we believe it's one of the best Honeycomb tablets out there.
