Fujitsu has announced the development of a platform technology for mobile devices users that automatically performs downloading, running, and erasing of applications and data, in sequence, required at a particular time and place. Conventionally, users or IT departments have had to setup and install applications and data directly onto information devices before they could be used. This, however, means time-consuming preparation that has become an issue.

Casio squeezed Bluetooth 4.0 into their latest G-Shock

The latest G-Shock watch from Casio boasts the usual array of shock and water-resistant claims, and now it can add FCC acceptance to the list, having passed through that government agency's approval process. So, why did this wristwatch hit the FCC in the first place. Well, the rugged little timekeeper is packing Bluetooth 4.0 in its bag of tricks, which lets the wearable gadget communicate with your smartphone. No word on a release date, but Casio did mention a fairly broad “sometime in 2011″ window when it was first announced back in March.

Mozilla works on Boot to Gecko (B2G) mobile OS inspired by Chrome OS

To come up with something totally new from scratch these days is a pretty tall order for anyone to fulfill, regardless of the industry in which you are in. These days, it is most probably being “inspired” by previous ideas and designs, where you improve upon the old with your own mix. Mozilla has just confirmed their plans to roll out an operating system that targets mobile devices, and it will be inspired by the Chrome OS.

Snail Mail My Email lets you send a letter without visiting the post office

In this day and age, it's hard to find anybody who still writes letters by hand anymore. With the convenience offered by email - instant delivery, delivery reports, attachments, rich content etc; it's hard to see why anybody would still want to use snail mail. Sure, there's always the personal touch of a handwritten letter and the fun from licking stamps but those novelties don't outweigh the convenience provided by technology. An artist by the name of Ivan Cash is refusing to let this form of communication die and has started a project called Snail Mail My Email.

Griffin StompBox available today

The Griffin StompBox that was announced earlier this year will be going on sale today. StompBox is an accessory designed to work with Frontier Design's iShred LIVE app. The combination of the StompBox and the app turns your iOS device into a fully functioning multi-effects pedal for your musical instrument (guitar, keyboard, bass, electric violin etc) that you can use for live performances or recording sessions. StompBox gives musicians the ability to control different effects within the app on the fly, just by stomping on the foot switches found on the aptly named device. Each switch can be assigned to control different effects in the app.

LG Thrill 4G will cost $99 at AT&T

AT&T still hasn't announced the exact launch date of the LG Thrill 4G, but today at least it unveiled the smartphone's price: $99.99. That's the price if you buy the Thrill with a new 2-yr contract agreement, of course. The handset should become available starting the coming weeks – rumor has it that August 7 will be the launch date.

Asus SL101 spotted at the FCC

The folks at the FCC are at it again, having the time of their lives testing the latest and greatest devices so that you and I will be safe knowing that our devices won't just overheat or blow up in our hands during use, not to mention making sure everything in the device or gizmo itself is compliant to the many rules and regulations set by the government for the good and general safety of everyone. The Asus Eee Pad Slider, also going by its model number SL101, has finally arrived at the FCC – which is a long time in coming, since the tablet was unveiled at CES earlier this year.
