Windows Phone Marketplace now populated by 25,000 apps

It's not just Apple's App Store striding past milestones today, Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace has also rounded a notable marker in its development. Specifically, it's now reported to have passed 25,000 apps by one site tracking comings and goings within it, though that figure's up for debate as the other WP7 apps tracker still lists the total at just under 25k. The main point is that the WP7 ecosystem is growing, and faster than previously at that — it took until the end of March to accrue 11,500 apps, a span of five months from its launch, whereas the last 13.5k have come in the brisker period of three months.

Nexus S 4G Gets Official Skype Video Calling Support

Skype 2.0 launched with video calling support on only a handful of Android devices, the Nexus S being one of them. The WiMAX-ified Nexus S 4G didn’t get the same treatment. That discrepency was quickly resolved, as support for video chat on the 4G Google phone has been slipped into Skype’s Android application. Hopefully it’s the start of more devices gaining access to the new functionality.

An eagle-eyed TechCrunch tipster spotted this freshly launched Google portal, whose purpose it seems to be to gather up all of the company's multifarious web services under one umbrella. A Google search for Google products, in other words. Punching in a topic brings up its popularity in Google Trends, lets you set up Google Alerts, plan related events in Google Calendar, email someone in Gmail, or hit up Picasa, YouTube or Google News with the same query. You get the picture.
